Position Summary
Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for ensuring patient prescriptions are filled and prepared in an accurate and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform routine, professional pharmacy functions.
- Responsible for filling and preparing prescription orders in a timely manner.
- Accountable for checking expired drugs on a monthly basis and making the necessary quantity adjustments in the inventory.
- Responsible for scanning in and putting away the daily orders from the wholesalers.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality guidelines of HIPAA.
- Follow and aid in enforcement of all company policies and procedures.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- Registered Pharmacy Technician, if applicable
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience not necessary, on the job training available to achieve Technician certification
Skills:
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple activities or interruptions at once.
- Ability to work in a standing environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, patiently and courteously.
- Focused team player, who can work in conjunction with pharmacists, other departments, customers, and management.
- Work independently with little supervision and meet daily deadlines.
- Ability to perform repetitious work accurately.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
This position is in a typical office environment which requires prolonged standing in front of a computer. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to fill prescriptions and operate standard office equipment including operation of standard computer and phone equipment.
